8 Secret android settings you should try!

Majority of us are using android Smartphone and we even don’t know that we are getting secret settings in our android phones. These settings will help you to customize your Smartphone to the next level and improve your Smartphone experience.

 My simple thinking is that if we are provided with some extra settings then why not unlock them and use them to improve our experience.

If you want to use the secret setting then firstly you will have to enable it. The settings are not enabled beforehand hence they are called secret settings. 

For enabling the secret settings follow the steps below:

Steps to unlock secret settings/developer option.

Step1: Open your phone’s Settings and go to About phone.

Step 2: You can see there a option called Build Number. Tap on the Build number repeatedly.

Step 3: After few taps you will see a message that "you are no of steps away from becoming a developer". Suppose it says “you are 3 steps away from becoming developer”. Tap for more 3 times then you can unlock your phone’s secret or developer options.

Now you can use the developer option. I am telling you that there are huge benefits of using developer’s tools. These options will help you to tweak your phone without applying any root.

You can clearly see in your settings that developers mode is now added in your settings. There is a large list of options available in this menu which can be used to reconfigure your phone.

Force RTL layout direction (lefty mode)

This one is one of the coolest options available in the developer tool. If you are left hand user and want to shift your display or text orientation toward right for better usability for your one hand operation then this option will help you do that. 

Basically the text in our phone’s display is left oriented which is done to give preference to our right hand operation and most of us use our right to use our phone. So, this option is basically for the left hand user to enable them to use their phone with ease.

 The Force RTL layout direction option helps to change the layout of your phone and gives you huge advantage to use your phone with left hand. This is a secret setting which is of high importance for the left hand user.

Improve speed

Talking about the second secret setting, if you want to increase your phone’s speed when you move from one window to another or doing multitasking then this secret setting will help you do that. This setting will help you increase or decrease your transition time between two windows. Hence will help you to increase or decrease your phone’s speed.

There are total three settings available for doing this.

•     The first one is the Window animation scale. This setting can be used to setup time gap between two windows.
•          The second one in the option is Transition animation scale.
•          The third one is the Animation duration scale.

These settings can be used to increase or decrease your phone overall speed. 

Suppose your time scale in each of these settings is 2x times then your phone will work slowly and for increasing speed you will have to make it to .5x times. Now you will see that your phone will work fast compared to the 2x times one.

OEM Unlocking

The third secret setting is the OEM Unlocking. If you want to root your phone then the first process is to unlock your phone’s Boot Loader. In many of the phones Boot loader is already unlocked and in many it is not and if you will unlock your boot loader then your warranty will be void.

 So, I personally did not recommend using this setting but if you still want to do that then this OEM unlocking setting will help you do that. This will unlock your phone’s Boot loader in the phone's settings only and make your Rooting task easier.

Kill Background

The fourth secret setting is the running services. You can see the process stats of your phone under these settings. You can see how much ram is used by which apps, which background processes are running and how many any application was used that is the complete history of applications.

 You can tap on any of the application and force stop it or disable it or see its ram usage which you cant see in your RAM option. So basically it is a application history seeing option available in the developer tool.

Black and White

The fifth secret setting is the stimulate color space which can be used to change your phone’s background to different color schemes. The most useful one is the Monochromacy one which you can use to change your phone’s color space to Black and white. This is extremely useful when you are using your phone in night.

 You don’t have to install extra application to enable night mode in your phone. This secret setting will help you do that.

Improve Gaming Experience

The sixth secret setting is the Force 4x MSAA. This setting can be used to increase your gaming functionability and experience. This setting increases the speed of the game and thus its experience. 

 If your are game lover and plays high end games in your phone then tick on this secret setting and you will be amazed to see the improvement in the performance of the game. You must try this secret setting to improve your high end gaming experience.

USB Debugging

The secret setting on the position of seventh is the USB debugging. Many users knows this but if you don’t know this then this setting will help you connect your phone to any PC’s or Laptop without downloading any additional software.

This is a very important setting which will help you to transfer files, flash your phone or connect your phone  to any software. Whenever you connect your phone to a PC or laptop, tick on the USB debugging option and you can perform your task easily.

Stay Awake

The last but not the least secret setting in our list is the Stay Awake setting. This setting will help your phone’s screen to stay awake while charging. It is beneficial if you want to use your phone while charging and does not want your phone’s screen to turn off. 

We are already provided with this type of setting in our display setting but it is different as the screen will stay awake till it is on charge.

 If you are doing any emergency work while charging and does not want your phone’s screen to turn off then this setting will help you.
